The job I decided to focus on was "Home attendant". My mom has had experience being a home attendant so I interview her about it. A lot of things happened to her that I was surprised to find out about. I wrote everything and I plan on using it for the um.. interview.. project? not sure what else to call it. The interview went really well, while i payed attention to what my "interviewee" was saying, I was also remembering what I learned in class and the important tips my english professor gave. It really helped and I received important detailed info that I am content with. I might carry on to have a 2nd interveiew with the person later on if need be. But for now, I think I had best focus on seeing what I can do with what I have now.
My source texts: Nickel and Dimed
Nickel and Dimed in my opinion is the best course text to use for this situation. As my mom was talking, this book is what came into mind. So I will think about using it. It's not definite because I'd like to take a second look at Studs Turkell as well. I know "Love and Gold" by Hochschild (>_<; i dont believe I spelled her name right..) is a good source as well.
As for sources from the internet, I've yet to find any. Along with studing for finals all this week, I did my best to focus on my ENG homework. But gotta keep moving! ganbatte! And so, it's nearing my time to sleep.
So until my next post..

I'm glad the interview went well! As far as your outside sources, maybe start by trying the New York Times database, so it's not as huge as Lexis-Nexis - there are probably a lot of articles you'd find by using 'home health aide' as a search term along with some of your other key terms.
